Boardroom Blonde

If we told you the number of times we’ve turned to a replay of Legally Blonde to lift our spirits when we’re feeling down, you’d think we’d have gone into law. That’s why when we see Boardroom Blonde in our #XOQ feed, she reminds us of the baddest blonde we know. Her Youtube channel is as fun and vibrant as her style, so we knew we had to make her this week’s Blogger Spotlight!

ELOQUII: What inspired you to start a YouTube channel?

Jolene: I started a YouTube channel not long after I started law school because I wanted to connect with other plus size women who enjoy dressing beautifully. Plus size fashion is underrepresented on YouTube and I want to help change that. It’s important for woman of all sizes to find ways to incorporate fashion trends into their professional and casual wardrobes.

E: Who are your biggest fashion inspirations?

J: As a sorority girl turned law student, Elle Woods will forever inspire me. I’m also inspired by the TV show Pretty Little Liars and my 90 year old grandmother Audrey. My grandmother taught me that pink is always a wardrobe staple, you must wear earrings and a new outfit is the best medicine.

E: Fashion is pretty conservative in the law profession. How do you plan to let your personality shine? Any tips?

J: I plan to practice in the southwest, which tends to be slightly less restrictive on women’s fashion. While you must wear a suit to court, many attorneys in Phoenix wear business casual attire to the office. I’m all about color, but when dressing for the office I make sure to coordinate the outfit to match the atmosphere. Dressing for success in the legal field is all about being fashionable, yet tasteful. By limiting color and the number of trendy pieces in an outfit, I can stay true to my own aesthetic.

E: What are your favorite ELOQUII pieces on the site right now?

J: This is the toughest question of all! I love the Studio Origami Dress, the Tulip Midi Skirt, the Kelly Blazer, and the Kady Fit Pants. The Kady Fit Pants are my go-to work pants! I hope to collect them in every color.

E: What trends are you most looking forward to wearing this spring?

J: Pastels! Up until recently, I never felt like there was a good selection of pastel pieces in plus sizes. My love of pastels has been re-inspired by this year’s offerings.

E: Blogger/vlogger shoutout – who do you love to read/watch and why?

J: My all-time favorite bloggers are Crystal of and Thera of Both of these women have phenomenal taste! Although our styles are different, these ladies inspire me to take the right kind of fashion risks.
