This time we pulled inspiration from both indigenous craft work of Panamanian tribes and 1980’s pop art. The bold, geometric designs of these textiles originated in the tradition of intricate painted body art. Over time, these patterns were woven into cotton and sewn onto cloth purchased by European settlers and merchants. Hundreds of years later, we still see motifs of these textiles in 1980's pop art movement, led by artist and social activist Keith Haring. The NYC subway became his “laboratory” for testing ideas, experimenting with lines, and engaging with the city to create the graphic designs he's still recognized for today. In April of 1986, Haring launched the Pop Shop, a retail store in SoHo selling T-shirts, toys, posters, buttons, and magnets bearing his colorful images and prints. He considered the shop an extension of his work, and painted the store interior in an abstract black and white mural, creating a striking and unique retail environment.

Our Pop Shop Collection features a diverse color palette of vivid reds and blues and seasonally transitional colors like tawny port and antique olive. Color blocking and varsity stripes on floral dresses creates a sporty-feminine look, while embroidery and rick rack trim elevates and distinguishes classic shirt dresses, striped blouses, and outerwear. Stay cool for summer with layered jumpers over tees and our newest poplin tunic. Then, come September, bid adieu to the dog days of summer with layered blouses and dresses. Farewells have never been so fashionable!
