Recap: Evening of Empowerment at our D.C. Store!

To celebrate the opening of our permanent home in the D.C. Metro Area we celebrated by welcoming a group of nine women to participate in an in-store panel discussion that touched on activism, pay equity, female entrepreneurship, self-care, style, political reporting and more. More than 50 fashion fans and guests gathered to shop, sip champagne and hear from the impressive (can you say girl crush alert?) lineup of panelists, which included:

Ati Williams: Star of HGTV’s D.C. Flippers (moderator) • Crystal Patterson: Government and Politics Outreach Manager, Facebook • Charlotte Smith: Senior Associate, Global communications and public affairs, Google • Jessica Estepa: Editor, USA TODAY’s OnPolitics Blog • Laura Mullen: Events Manager, Washingtonian Magazine • Phylicia Woods: Counsel, U.S. Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs • Rebecca Correa Funk: Founder, The Outrage • Daisha Martin: Co-chair, Howard University College Republicans • Dr. Marlena McKnight: Education consultant and former Assistant Director, American University’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion

The inspirational and stimulating conversation between the women highlighted the importance of diverse representation in government, the value of self-care, the role of the press, personal vs. professional style tips and even the panelists’ most recent reads and favorite podcasts.

We couldn’t have imagined a better way to cheers the new space and we hope to see you there soon! Flip through the photos above for some highlights from the night and then shop some of our store favorites below
