It may still be August but we’re all beyond excited to outfit plan for Fall. And this year, we’re all going mad for plaid.

Checks and plaids have dominated the runway season after season- they started to emerge during the Spring / Summer 2018 fashion shows and the trend continued throughout Resort 2019.

Classic patterns such as glen plaids have always been popular, however, these classic patterns have been given a new twist. Bold colors, softer fabrics (such as chiffons), and size variation have been added to the mix. The sartorial look continues this season, designers have crafted suit silhouettes with refreshing updates. The Power suit of the 1980’s returns with broad shoulders and a nipped-in-waist.  Designers also showcase slim trousers, skirts, or shorts paired with a slightly oversized blazer creating a head-to-toe look.

Overwhelmed by the thought of head-to-toe plaid and the commitment to the structured look? Go for a soft sheer dress in monochromatic plaids. What’s more fun than mixing patterns? Pair a checked pattern with a floral print, this is a great way to stay on trend and tie in a feminine flare.

Whatever your style may be adding in checks and plaids is a great way to dress on trend this fall. Some patterns to look out for are glen plaids, window pane plaids, tattersall plaids, buffalo plaids.
